IVAO, one of the two biggest online air traffic control networks for flight simmers, marked ATC Day on Tuesday 20 October with every Slovenian ATC position open.

When and where. Slovenia was fully staffed from 18:00 to 21:00 UK time. Pilots could fly in or out of Ljubljana (LJLJ), Maribor (LJMB), Portorož (LJPZ) or Cerklje (LJCE).

How to take part. To count for the event, pilots needed at least one hour of block-to-block time inside the event window.

What is IVAO? IVAO is a free online network where real people act as air traffic controllers, and pilots connect from simulators such as Microsoft Flight Simulator and X-Plane. Fully staffed events like this one are a great way to try online ATC, because every frequency from ground to approach has a controller.

More events coming up. IVAO runs events most days. Upcoming ones include Elba Madness (22 October), the Shannon to Wrocław Airbridge (24 October) and Frankfurt Darkness (25 October). See ivao.events for the full calendar.
