Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024's Sim Update 7.1 (build 1.9.21.0) is rolling out now on PC, Xbox and PS5. Microsoft says it's "rolling out to all platforms now", but the MSFS team adds that "you may not see the update immediately".

What does it fix? Microsoft says it fixes "a small number of bugs introduced with SU7 last week, including an issue that caused drag to be calculated incorrectly". The release notes put it as: "Fixed a flight model issue that was causing a decrease of drag."

Air racing. In the National Championship Air Races (NCAR) game mode, time trial is now playable. The notes also list fixes for NCAR and the Roswell Jet race, the Marketplace page opened from NCAR, the ELECTRICAL BATTERY LOAD SimVar and the SDK documentation.

A tip for PC players. The release notes say outdated packages in your Community folder may affect performance, so if you get stability issues or long loading times, try moving them out.

What's next? On Friday 23 October, the MSFS team said a new SU7.2 beta (1.9.22.0) was planned for beta testers later that day.
