Update, Wednesday 21 October 2026: Version 3 is out now.
Fenix Simulations has released Version 3 of its A320 family for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The update, version 3.0.0.7426, is available now through the Fenix Installer for both the A320 Base Pack and the A319/A321 Expansion Pack, according to Fenix's product status page. Fenix's release blog covers both MSFS 2024 and MSFS 2020, with some flight-model improvements backported to MSFS 2020's legacy system.
Fenix describes it as a major update, trimmed from a changelog of around 4,000 items. The headline changes include a complete overhaul of the FMS and VNAV, aimed at more accurate managed descents, holding patterns and database holds; a rebuilt Flight Warning Computer and ECAM; a major FADEC rebuild for the CFM56 and IAE V2500; and a new hybrid ground-handling model. In the cabin, there's a full simulation of the Cabin Intercommunication Data System, a detailed Flight Attendant Panel and a new Virtual Purser. The EFB gains a redesigned settings app and a searchable, interactive QRH, and navdata can now be updated from inside the sim.
Before you fly, Fenix warns that existing mods are likely to break, that navdata updates work differently, and that MSFS 2024 SU7's drag modelling has a known issue. Version 3 comes at no extra cost for existing owners: Fenix says it has "always aimed to prioritise existing customers", and in its 18 October video said "we can't in good conscience ask for more of your money".

Background: what we knew before release (18 October)
Fenix Simulations has revealed Version 3, the next major update to its popular A320 family for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The reveal came in a presentation on the Fenix YouTube channel, titled Fenix A320 Version 3, published overnight on 17 to 18 October.
A very quick presentation, almost two hours long. Fenix billed it as a very quick look, but the video runs 1 hour 54 minutes. It walks through almost every part of the aircraft, covering the flight model, fly-by-wire, autopilot, the EFB, art and sound, the cabin systems (CIDS and FAP), ECAM, FADEC and LNAV and VNAV. New VNAV and a new ECAM are among the headline changes.
Which aircraft are covered? Version 3 covers the whole A32X family: the A320 Base Pack and the A319 and A321 pack.
No extra cost for owners. In a post on Sunday 18 October, Fenix said the update lands next week and that existing owners won't pay extra. In Fenix's own words: we can't in good conscience ask for more of your money.
Why it matters. The Fenix A320 is one of the most flown study-level airliners in Microsoft Flight Simulator, so a ground-up update at no extra cost for existing owners to its systems and flight model is big news for a lot of virtual pilots.
