Gaya Simulations' Santa Barbara Airport (KSBA) is out now for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 on PC. It costs about $17 (US dollars, converted by the store from euros; no UK price given) on the Contrail store.
Santa Barbara Airport sits between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez Mountains in California. Gaya says the scenery is handcrafted for MSFS 2024, with close attention to the real airport's architecture, proportions and details.
The terminal
- Spanish-style architecture: red-tiled roofs, arched walkways and landscaped courtyards.
- A detailed terminal interior, modelled to capture the character of the real airport.
- Boarding bridges and terminal rooftop details.
Around the airport
- Custom-made people, including passengers, airport staff, police officers and TSA personnel.
- Vehicles including police vehicles, buses, airport service vehicles and ground support equipment.
- Runways, taxiways and aprons with realistic surface variations, weathering and markings.
- General and business aviation facilities, including weathered hangars.
- Landmark buildings including the control tower, visitor centre and fire station, plus the approach roads, drop-off areas and roadside signs.
Gaya says the scenery has been carefully optimised to balance visual detail and performance.
