SimRacing Expo 2026 ran in Frankfurt from 16 to 18 October, and it was one of the busiest weekends of the year for sim racing hardware. From new wheels and wheelbases to a whole new generation of active pedals, here is everything that mattered, brought together in one place.
Fanatec: Project Obsidian and a Red Bull Racing wheel. Fanatec, now part of Corsair, showed a prototype of Project Obsidian, a steering wheel planned for 2027. It has a 5-inch colour LCD under glass, RGB buttons and SimHub support. Fanatec also showed a ClubSport Formula V3 Oracle Red Bull Racing edition, with forged carbon and a 2.7-inch OLED display, due in mid-November.
Asetek: DD10 dated, GT Nova revealed and a 5-year warranty. Asetek founder and CEO André Sloth Eriksen confirmed the DD10 wheelbase launches on 27 October at 11:00 CET, priced at €499 including 19% VAT or $499 excluding VAT. It delivers 10 Nm of direct drive force feedback, upgradeable to 14 Nm, works with every Asetek Racing wheel and third-party wheels through the Asetek quick release, and is Xbox compatible. Asetek also unveiled GT Nova, a new GT wheel launching in March 2027 at $299.99 excluding VAT or €299.99 including VAT, with a 1.3-inch OLED display, a MultiLink rotary system that turns two controls into 24 inputs, and RaceHub Link for changing settings without leaving the sim. On top of that, Asetek announced a 5-year warranty on Asetek Racing products bought after 15 October 2026.
Active pedals go mainstream. Two brands brought active, motor-driven pedals closer to more drivers. Simucube revealed ActivePedal Sport, its most compact and accessible ActivePedal yet. Force, travel and feel are all set in software through Simucube Tuner, and it can play telemetry effects such as ABS and lock-up through your foot. It costs £999 including VAT and arrives in early 2027. Simagic's P-Active pedal is on pre-order at $999 excluding tax, with shipping from 18 November.
RECARO and Trak Racer. RECARO showed its RECARO SIM concept rig, sharing its booth with Manthey. It was a showcase only, with no price or date announced. Trak Racer showed its 2027 line-up, including its first wheelbase (a 3 Nm entry-level unit), new rims and bundles, TR5 Pro seat brackets, a SimHub-compatible pedal shaker and the Titanium TRX cockpit.
Esports: Coanda do it again. On the Expo stage, Coanda Esports won the RENNSPORT R1 Fall Season live in Frankfurt, after also taking the Spring Season, making them back-to-back champions.
Why it matters. The big theme this year was choice at lower prices. Direct drive at the €499 mark, a high-spec GT wheel under €300 and active pedals at around £1,000 all bring features that used to cost far more within reach of more sim racers. We will cover the DD10 launch on 27 October and any reviews as they arrive.
