It was a huge week in sim, with SimRacing Expo in Frankfurt and a major update for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. Here are the stories you might have missed between 12 and 18 October.

  1. MSFS 2024 Sim Update 7 is out. Sim Update 7 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has been released, and it includes the free National Championship Air Races content, with Reno and Roswell. A Sim Update 7.1 beta followed during the week to fix a drag bug introduced by SU7.

  3. GT7 Spec IV Part 1. Gran Turismo 7's Spec IV Part 1 update adds Sportsland SUGO and six new cars.

  5. Steven Wilson is a three-time eNASCAR champion. Steven Wilson won the 2026 eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series title, the third championship of his career.

  6. iniBuilds A380 v1.0.4. The iniBuilds A380 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 received v1.0.4, bringing TCAS and protection fixes.

  7. Coming up. RaceRoom's Historic Update (it went live on 21 October), the BlueBird 757 (23 October), the DeltaWing ATR 72-600 for X-Plane 12 (27 October) and the Asetek DD10 wheelbase (27 October).

  8. Also this week. OctopusG announced the DCS: MiG-27K Flogger-J2, which is in early development with no release date, and iniBuilds returned to X-Plane 12 with Doha Hamad International (OTHH).
